Today's where in the world is National Geographic's Photo of the Day by Paul Hoagie. Wow, what a picture. Manarola is one of the villages in the famous Cinque Terra. Now I'm off to see if Manarola can be added to my (already planned) Italian vacation without too much re-planning!

Where in the World Wednesday

Since we just returned from a week in Yellowstone National Park, today's "Where" is Lower Falls in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone! This is the view from Artist's Point. The falls are 308 feet high, which is almost twice as high as Niagara Falls. As a desert person, this is an incredible amount of water. WOW! This area of the park is what gives it its name of Yellowstone. Most of the park isn't yellow, but here it is spectacularly yellow.

Here is a webcam picture of a town in the Netherlands. They have a carnival in the town square. I really like the lights against the grey overcastness.

Baby Buffalo...I love seeing all the babies: bald eagles, elk, buffalo, moose, bears. Late spring/early summer is such a wonderful time to visit.

Where in the World Wednesday

Where in the World Wednesday has come again. This week it is Aachen, Germany. One of my favorite pictures from our trip to Europe in 2006. The stained glass in this cathedral takes my breath away every time. For a size perspective, check out the person standing at the very bottom of the picture in the back, middle of the picture, near the second of the gold reliquaries. He puts this into a whole new perspective, doesn't he?

My allergies are making me miserable. We took a walk in a neighborhood park last weekend and I didn't check the pollen count beforehand. What a mistake. So today's "Where in the World..." is from Los Alamos, where we lived for a time. "Why?", you might ask. Because it is the one place I've lived where I had no allergies. :)

This statue is located at the park in the middle of town with Ashley Pond and in the fall is quite pretty.

Where in the World Wednesday is just a way for me to post pictures and links from places all over the world. This week's is from one of my favorite iPhone apps, Live Cam, which has webcams from all over the world. A peek at different locals, some exciting, some mundane. This week, I couldn't decide between a view of the Eiffel Tower at night or a small church in the Italian Alps. Ossana is a small village (pop. ~800) near the tri-point of Italy, Austria and Switzerland.
